Battle for Power doesn't show up. I only have "Beat up Garth's Thugs" but the battle for power mission is still in my Main Quests list

My "A Battle for Power" mission still states the next step as WiP.. is there any fix for this or am I gonna have to start a new save? 

EDIT: Okay so I managed to solve this by not accepting the mission from Elander until after I told Ricky that I'd met him. However by reloading a save I found a different issue. Some of the mission triggers don't reset so my journal says I have completed missions that I haven't and I can no longer get the Rouge's ring from Ghoul.

I am also having this issue. Very irritating.  Love the rest of the game though.
